   Proposal Description:
   Quantitative imaging provides objective evidence supporting presence of neurodegeneration in patients who suffer from cognitive complaints. Importantly, this evidence is orthogonal to patient complaint, which helps to triangulate underlying etiology. It remains unclear whether regional patterns of neurodegeneration will provide further refinement of etiology to target particular etiologies within the neurodegenerative spectrum of disorders.                                                                                     Aim 1 is to test the hypothesis that quantitative imaging may be used to predict near-term decline in patients and gauge performance as an enrichment strategy for clinical trials.                                                       Aim 2 is to identify rates of regional neurodegeneration in pathologically confirmed neurodegenerative disorders to assess their promise as outcome measures in clinical trials.                                                   Aim 3 is to assess the performance of quantitative imaging for detecting, in the individual patient, regional cortical atrophy that informs predictive prognosis and ultimate pathological diagnosis.
